The spirit of the Lord is one and His spirit moves. He is Dynamic.
In the Book of Genesis, the Bible says the earth was void and dark. There was confusion, blindness, and no direction.
And the Lord said “let there be light” and there was light.
We believe that even as we are in this season, the Lord has made His Light available to as many as will walk into that light.
Let’s Read (Psalms 27)
It’s important to run towards the light of God. The Bible says that God covers himself and hides within the light. (2 Chronicles 7:2)
How can God hide behind light when light reveals everything?
That’s because light is not something everybody can open their eyes and look at. It takes spending time in the secret place.
The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? And the Lord is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?
Whom shall I fear? What goes to our mind first is an individual or an enemy. We’re not wrong.
Every “whom” is a spirit, which leads us to the scripture we’re going to discuss today.
(2 Timothy 1:7)
Notice the words, “God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and also a sound mind.”
The physical translation of fear is the negative anticipation of an imminent doom or imminent happening. BUT, the Bible says fear is a spirit.
The same way there’s the Spirit of love and the spirit of a sound mind is something God gives. But God doesn’t give the spirit of fear. The spirit of fear is what is being peddled around us by the devil.
Let’s look at a scenario:
Let’s say you are at a job interview. When you get there you see several people in the interview room and the company only wants to hire two. The resumes of the people you are sitting with are more qualified for the job than you. They have the experience and certifications. Even during the first orientation people are better dressed than you.
The first thing that comes to mind is, “let me start putting my application in other places”. Fear is kicking in. Once you have believed that, you have already opened yourself to that spirit.
What follows is torment. Everything you think is now monitored and controlled by that spirit called fear.
There’s a lot of information that is going on. It is being pushed out at work, by friends and family. Social media is hyping up a lot of things.
All that this is a propaganda of the spirit of fear.
That spirit slithers through by whatever means it finds, either through discussions or talks.
That’s why the Bible says in (Proverbs 4:23) “keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life”.
The enemy targets our hearts and minds because what we receive into our hearts is what will germinate.
Remember, the spirit of the Lord hovered around the dark face of the earth then He introduces the Holy Spirit.
This spirit of fear is moving around and doing its own propaganda.
Remember, the scribes, the Pharisees and the Sadducees were the custodians of the law. The Bible says they sat in the seat of Moses and were in charge of administering the Word of God.
Yet they were facilitators of the destruction of the plan of God by giving information to Herod.
They had no vision or understanding of the signs of the times though thy knew the signs of the skies.
They knew that the Messiah was to be born King but had no spiritual insight that he was not going to be their “political” king, born in the palace. Herod, therefore, proceeded to kill over 2000 infants.
People are using their voices to speak lies.
It is important not to agree with everything that is being peddled. Reject the propaganda of the enemy.
They will paint a picture and make a graphic description of what they think should happen. But that’s all.
The real danger is when we begin to entertain ourselves on this fear.
We unknowingly move on to ENTERTAINING it to RECEIVING it.
Read (2 Corinthians 10:4-6 (TPT)
The operation of the enemy starts in the thought realm (our mind) because the Bible says we have the mind of Christ. (1 Corinthians 2:16) The weapon of our warfare are not carnal.
Think about it,
The enemy uses propaganda and manipulation to achieve his goal. He bombards our minds and our thought with imaginations and we begin to process them and then receiving subconsciously believe them.
Go back to (2 Timothy 1:7)
God has not given on to us the spirit of fear. But He has given on to us the spirit of power, the spirit of love and the spirit of a sound mind. We are even on the higher ground here because the three dimensions of the Spirit overshadow the spirit of fear!
If we have the mind of Christ, God speaks to us like he speaks to himself. We must worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:24) That doesn’t mean we have to be in church building to worship Him. We have to revert to the spirit beings that we are, because God does not operate in the flesh.
Fear brings torment and torment brings sickness. Fear, when its entertained and received, brings in all his relatives and they inflict damage to the person, but God did not and will not give us the spirit of fear!
What is power being in charge?
You cannot take control if you don’t have the spirit of God or the spirit of power.
The Spirit of love is the Spirit of God, and the Spirit of love is not a spirit of vengeance, arrogance, or self-glorification.
(1 Corinthians 13:4-7, 1 Corinthians 2:16)
Jesus Christ is the only person that has been with the Lord. He knows the mind of God because he IS GOD.
(Ephesians 6:10-11)The spirit that God has given us is a spirit that covers us as an armor too. As we fight all these fiery darts, we Put On the Complete armor that God has provided for us so that we are not only fighting, but we are also protected.
That way, the enemy will not be able to come and occupy where the Lord has filled. It is a precious place. When the enemy is trying to bombard us we can tell him to get out of our faces.
We can reject those words of the enemy after we have finished our sessions with the Lord in the secret place in his presence. Then we can say we have a sound mind there. (2 Corinthians 10:6)
We will be the ones that will come out strong and do exploits. It is not just a talk. It is an experiential knowledge that plays out so that when you’re talking we’re not just quoting scriptures because we memorized it. But we quote what we have experienced in the secret place.
Nobody can take our experiences with the Lord away.
This give us the edge to be “on the mountain” so we can push the devil down.
(Matthew 21:18-19)
Think about this:
Why did Jesus curse the fig tree?
The tree was full “talk” but had no fruit to show for it. (Proverbs 18:21) says that death and life are in the power of the tongue. This tree is like some Christians today, producing fruitless deception.
They send out every sign of christian attraction but lack the revelation of the Heavenly fruiting season. (2 Timothy 3:5). Such trees will be cursed and will eventually wither away.
May this not be our portion in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen!
